For centuries, Portuguese shepherds have used a thick and warm wool blanket - known in Portugal as papa blankets - as a shelter from the harsh weather conditions in the mountains. At the same time, it made its way into Portuguese households, passed on from generation to generation.
After several decades in which this historical blanket seemed to be completely forgotten, it soon became clear that we would bring it back to the looms and carry on its textile legacy.
